Copper Canyon Experience 5D/4N
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Chihuahua
Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the Chihuahua International airport and transferred to your hotel. Get settled in and make last minute arrangements for your exciting trip ahead. Venture out for dinner on your own for your first taste of delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. Overnight in Chihuahua.
Day 2: Chihuahua and Creel (D)
Today you will board the first class Chepe Train en route to Creel at 6:00 am with scenic vistas of the countryside along the way. Upon arrival to the town of Creel, get settled in to your hotel and take a moment to walk around town. Meet in the lobby of your hotel this afternoon for your mountain biking adventure to visit the San Ignacio de Arareco Mission and the beautiful valleys full of interesting limestone rock formations in the shape of mushrooms, frogs and monks. End the day in the Raramuri High Tarahumara indigenous region where you will see families who have made their homes in caves for hundreds of years. Overnight in Creel.
Day 3: Creel and Posada Barrancas (B/L/D)
Have an early breakfast today and take advantage of your free morning to visit the Tarahumara Museum in the city centre, located inside the old train station. At 10:30 am you will be transferred back to the Chepe Train to catch your first class train towards the famous Copper Canyon known as “Barrancas del Cobre”. Upon arrival to Posada Barrancas, you will get checked in to your hotel and have lunch. Then, go for a walk to the scenic overlook point on the edge of the canyon and visis the "Cueva del Chino", inhabited by families of the Low Tarahumara region. Overnight in Posada Barrancas.
Day 4: Posada Barrancas (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to Barranca del Cobre Adventure Park where you will experience the longest zip-line in Latin America stretching over 5,000 metres consisting of 7 lines and 2 bridges. Fly along the canyon at speeds of 65 to 90 km/h (depending on the line and your weight). Once you reach the other side of the canyon, you will return to the train station by way of cable car with panoramic views of the spectacular natural wonder. Make a quick stop back at your hotel to pick up your things and then jump on a bus back to Chihuahua. Reminisce with friends about this exciting journey into the Copper Canyon’s beautiful landscapes and have dinner on your own. Overnight in Chihuahua.
Day 5: Chihuahua (End of Trip)
Your trip will come to an end as you check out of your hotel and say goodbye to your friends.
