Take a boat around the Sumidero Canyon on Day 8. Enjoy a free day in San Cristobal on Day 9 before your night bus to Oaxaca. Visit Monte Alban on Day 10, Mitla, Hierve el Agua and Tule on Day 11. Take a bus to Mexico City on Day 12. Explore the Teotihuacan Pyramids on Day 13 and join a Foodie Tour around the city on Day 14. Your trip ends on Day 15 as you are dropped off at Mexico City airport.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1 - Cancun Airport Pick-Up & Transfer to Playa del Carmen
You will be picked up from the Cancun airport upon arrival and transferred to Playa del Carmen. Check-in to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Playa del Carmen.
Day 2 - Bus Transfer to Tulum
Today you are off to Tulum. Make your way to the bus station and hop on to your bus. Upon arrival make your own way to your accommodation for check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. You can relax on Tulum’s stunning white beaches today or even take a trip on your own to see the superb Tulum archaeological site, located on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Overnight in Tulum.
Day 3 – Bus Transfer Merida
Enjoy a free morning in Tulum and then take an afternoon bus to Merida where you will be dropped off for the night. Upon arrival make your own way to your accommodation for check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Enjoy the local life at the tree-lined plazas in culturally rich Merida and go for a Yucatecan dinner at one of the many local restaurants. Overnight Merida.
Day 4 – Chichen Itza Day Trip
Get ready for a day trip to the captivating archaeological site of Chichen Itza, one of the new 7 wonders of the world from Merida. Tour this incredible archaeological site with an English speaking guide and make an optional visit to a nearby cenote. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at Merida city centre. Please make your own way to your accommodation. Overnight in Merida.

Day 5 - Cenotes Underground Snorkel
Visit the breathtaking underground water caves in area called cenotes where you can go snorkelling in the crystalline waters of these spectacular caverns. See ancient formations of stalagmites and stalactites resting mysteriously in the bottom of the cave and ponder the importance of these cenotes as sacred and ceremonial sites for the ancient Mayan civilization that lived here long ago. Overnight in Merida.
Day 6 – Bus Transfer to Palenque
Continue your journey as you head towards Palenque today. Make your way to the bus station and hop on board your bus transfer to Palenque. Upon arrival please make your way to your accommodation for check-in. Overnight in Palenque.
Day 7 – Palenque Ruins, Misol-Ha & Agua Azul Waterfalls & Transfer to San Cristobal
Depart Palenque early in the morning for a fantastic day trip. This tour will take you to the fascinating archaeological site of Palenque, set deep in the jungle, as well as to two breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls; Agua Azul, famous for its translucent blue waters, and Misol-Ha where you can take a refreshing dip. End the day in the highland town of San Cristobal. Overnight in San Cristobal.
Day 8 - Sumidero Canyon Boat Trip
Travel to the delightful 'pueblo magico' of Chiapa de Corzo and take a 2-hour boat ride through the stunning Sumidero Canyon. If you are lucky you may see local wildlife such as crocodiles, monkeys and birds and a great variety of plants and trees. Your guide will point out fascinating geological formations within the canyon. Return to San Cristobal in the afternoon and enjoy its cobblestone streets and cozy cafes. Overnight in San Cristobal.
Day 9 – San Cristobal Free Day & Overnight Bus to Oaxaca
Enjoy your last free day in San Cristobal today and then hop on an overnight bus to Oaxaca City.
Day 10 – Monte Alban Ruins Day Trip
Be amazed by the historical ruins of Monte Alban, an archaeological site with a spectacular mountain top location overlooking the valleys of Oaxaca, and mingle with locals at an indigenous town on a day trip. Overnight in Oaxaca City.
Day 11 – Hierve el Agua, Mitla and Tule Day Trip
Enjoy the spectacular natural surroundings of Hierve el Agua, then visit the ruins of Mitla, the 2,000-year-old Tule tree and finally, taste some local liquor at the Traditional Mezcal Workshop on a day trip with a guide to explain every unique detail. Overnight in Oaxaca City.
Day 12 – Bus Transfer to Mexico City
Today you will travel to Mexico City. Make your way to the bus station and hop on board your bus transfer to Mexico City. Upon arrival please make your way to your accommodation for check in. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 13 - Teotihuacan Pyramids Trip (D)
Visit the impressive Teotihuacan Pyramids and discover the local culture on this off-the-beaten path trip. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide throughout the day. First head out of Mexico City and wander around the Teotihuacan Pyramids and feel on top of the world as you climb the Sun Pyramid. Then explore a local town and visit a factory where locals make products with cactus plants. Visit a local family run Pulqueria and sample the sacred Aztec drink ‘pulque’. At night, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local family home and experience their way of life! Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 14 – Mexico City Markets & Foodie Tour
Take a thrilling tour today to the bustling and fascinating marketplaces located in the heart of the city centre to taste spicy local food and spend a day in the shoes of a local. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 15 – Mexico City Airport Drop-Off
Rise early and say goodbye to Mexico as your journey comes to an end today. After check-out you will be transferred Mexico City airport in time to catch your flight back home. We wish you safe travels for your onwards journey!
