Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Longreach

Arrive at Longreach Airport to be greeted by your host from Saltbush Retreat.

On arrival visit the Qantas Founders Museum, eloquently telling the story of the founding of Qantas. View marvellous interpretive and interactive exhibits before checking in to your accommodation.

This afternoon, board the Heritage Rail Motors for the Silver-Tails Rail Sunset tour and experience the spectacular changing colours of sunset. Enjoy a selection of freshly prepared signature canapes carefully curated to give you a taste of the land around you and toast the sunset as the light fades into the darkening sky.

This evening relax at one of the local watering holes/restaurants. You will be able to use your dinner voucher here to reflect on a great first day out west.

Day 2: Longreach

Today is dedicated to walking in the steps of the pioneers at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame Museum Galleries, Cinematic Experience and The LIVE Outback Stockman Show.

Return to your accommodation by mid-afternoon.

Late afternoon, join the Drover’s Sunset Cruise on the beautiful Thomson River. Unwind with on-board nibbles as you gaze out to a magnificent outback sunset.

Enjoy live entertainment and a two-course camp oven themed dinner under the stars at Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show.

Day 3: Longreach Departure

This morning take some time to explore downtown Longreach or enjoy a casual coffee before continuing the Qantas story with a 1.5 hour guided airpark tour exploring iconic aircraft including the DC-3, Catalina Flying Boat, Lockheed Super Constellation, Boeing 707 and Boeing 747.

Your Outback Longreach experience comes to an end with a transfer to the Longreach Airport.
