Get picked up from Christchurch Airport and transferred to your accommodation.

Spend your day getting close to nature. Travel by road enjoying the rural pastoral scenes of North Canterbury, to Kaikoura where mountains meet sea. Kaikoura is world renowned for the variety of marine mammals which can be seen, not least of all the Giant Sperm Whales and the acrobatic Dusky Dolphins. Upon arrival, join Whale Watch for an exciting up-close encounter with these marvellous animals in their natural environment year-round. Your boat will also feature a unique, award-winning series of animation sequences designed to reveal Kaikoura’s hidden wildlife wonders both below and above the sea while the tour is taking place. Alternatively, you can join Wings Over Whales for a fantastic birds-eye view of the whales and other marine animals with stunning views of the Kaikoura coastline and mountain ranges. After your Whale Watch Tour enjoy a café lunch (own expense or optional extra) and visit a seal colony. On your return to Christchurch a stop will be made at a vineyard where a wine tasting has been arranged for your pleasure (time permitting). Hotel pick ups and drop offs are included in your tour.

Visit the naturally picturesque and tranquil setting of Hanmer Springs nestled in a valley surrounded by a superb expanse of mountains and forest-clad hills. You can enjoy the excitement of jet boating or even bungy jumping (both optional extras) at Thrillseekers Canyon. On arriving in the township of Hanmer Springs lunch at the Garden House Café followed by an afternoon relaxing in the hot thermal pools and exploring this Alpine Village. As an alternative, if jet boating is not for you, a therapeutic massage is available, as an optional extra for your relaxation and enjoyment.

Get picked up and taken back to Christchurch Airport, before hopping on your flight head over the International Antarctic Centre to play with penguins and experience a real Antarctic storm.
