Itinerary
DAY 1
7:00 am pick up in Salt Lake City, UT. Travel to Jackson, WY and learn about the unique geology and history of Northern Utah, Southeastern Idaho and Western Wyoming. Once in Jackson, you will explore the Gros Ventre Slide area and enjoy exploring historic Jackson, WY. Dinner tonight will be at one of the fantastic local restaurants in Jackson.

DAY 2
This morning enter into Grand Teton National Park and start your day with photography and wildlife opportunities at Schwabacher’s Landing and Mormon Row. Afterwards, you enjoy breakfast at Signal Mountain Lodge before continuing to Jenny Lake for a boat tour and hiking up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. Afterwards head north to Jackson Lake and Coulter Bay for the afternoon of more hiking and wildlife watching before returning to Jackson, WY for another relaxing evening in town.

DAY 3
This morning you will drive north through Grand Teton to Yellowstone National Park. Enjoy a few scenic spots along the way including some waterfalls and wildlife. Once in Yellowstone, explore the West Thumb Geyser Basin, Old Faithful and the Old Faithful Lodge for Lunch. Afterwards continue your way to Madison Junction with stops at Black Sand Basin, Grand Prismatic Spring, Firehole Geyser Basin, and other areas. There will be some great hikes and multiple opportunities to enjoy watching the wildlife within the park.

DAY 4
Explore Yellowstone National Park again today by visiting Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and its fun hikes to Uncle Toms Cabin and Red Rocks overlooks. Also visit Dunraven Pass, Tower Falls, Lamar Valley, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Norris Geyser Basin. This will round out your time exploring the park before heading back through Madison River Valley to West Yellowstone.

DAY 5
This morning will be spent exploring just outside of Yellowstone NP in Island Park with stops at Big Springs and Johnny Sacks historic Cabin. This freshwater spring is one of the headwaters of the Snake River. There will also be stops at Upper and Lower Mesa Falls before heading back to Salt Lake City. As you get close to the Great Salt Lake, you will visit the Bear River Bird Refuge. This is one of the largest migratory bird refuges and rookeries within the western US and is a fantastic place to explore and learn about the importance of these areas to the animals that inhabit them. You will return to Salt Lake City by 6:00 pm.
