Driver/guide at disposal for the whole day touring
After breakfast in Svolvær, your private guide will meet you at your hotel to begin a full-day journey through some of the most scenic and culturally rich parts of northern Lofoten. Leaving the town behind, you’ll travel north along quiet coastal roads, passing fishing hamlets, soaring peaks, and Arctic beaches that define this wild and beautiful region.
Your first stop is the peaceful village of Laukvik, perched on the northern coast of Austvågøya. Here, you’ll enjoy a short walk along the rocky shoreline and, if you wish, visit the small Polarlight Center, a fascinating spot dedicated to the science and folklore of the northern lights.
Continuing westward, the journey winds toward Aalan Farm, a family-run goat and herb farm nestled in a serene green valley. The farm is known for its handmade organic cheeses and artisanal products. During your visit, you’ll tour the facilities, meet the goats, and learn about traditional cheese-making techniques before settling in for a generous tasting of their signature cheeses—ranging from creamy fresh varieties to aged rounds flavored with herbs grown on-site.
Next, continue southward across the open, wind-swept island of Gimsøya to reach Hov Gård, a historic horse farm located beside one of Lofoten’s most dramatic beaches. After a brief introduction and gear fitting, you’ll mount your Icelandic horse for a 1.5-hour coastal ride along black-sand shores, grassy dunes, and coastal trails. This gentle, guided ride is suitable for beginners and experienced riders alike and offers panoramic views and a unique sense of closeness with the land and sea.
