Day 1: Mexico City, Mexico

Day 2: Mexico City, Mexico

Discover the “City of the Gods,” Teotihuacan, at dawn, before the crowds arrive and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of this ancient city with a knowledgeable guide. Enjoy a peaceful visit to the impressive archaeological site, stop at a local obsidian workshop for tastings, and indulge in a delicious traditional Mexican lunch.

Day 3: Mexico City - Oaxaca, Mexico

Transfer from Mexico City to OaxacaPlease make your own way to the bus station to catch your bus to Oaxaca.

Day 4: Oaxaca, Mexico

Explore the amazing petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua and go for a swim in the natural pools. Visit a gigantic 2,000 year-old tree in Tule and then gaze at beautiful carved stone structures in the Zapotec ruins of Mitla. Learn the process of making woolen rugs by hand in a local village and sip Mezcal, a popular Mexican liquor, at a local factory.

Day 5: Oaxaca - Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Come and explore the breathtaking ruins of Monte Alban. Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring Sumidero Canyon on a boat trip to enjoy the sight of impressive waterfalls, enter mystical caves and see the cliff where Chiapanec Warriors committed suicide instead of being forced to surrender to the Spanish Conquistadores. Pass through the colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo on your way back to San Cristobal.

Day 10: San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico

Immerse yourself in the indigenous communities of Chiapas living in the towns of Zinacantan and San Juan Chamula where you can experience their culture firsthand. Visit the local church and marketplaces where you will be overwhelmed by an explosion of colour and life.

Day 11: San Cristobal de las Casas - Palenque, Mexico

Swim in the refreshing waters of the multi-tiered limestone waterfalls in Agua Azul and take a walk in nature. At Misol-Ha, the river plunges 40 meters over the edge of a cliff offering you the chance to walk in the caves behind the stream. Explore the ancient Maya city of Palenque and climb the pyramids to look out over the lush green jungle setting.

Day 12: Yaxchilan, Mexico

Today you will discover the Bonampak ruins and the Yaxchilan archaeological site buried deep in the Lacandon Jungle.

Day 13: Palenque, Mexico

Transfer from Palenque to MeridaPlease make your own way to the bus station to catch your bus to Merida.You will be taken on a guided jungle hike before heading back to Palenque where the trip will come to an end.

Day 14: Merida, Mexico

Come and experience a beautiful eco-architectural and historical combination. Discover the Spanish architecture by visiting the beautiful Hacienda Yaxcopoil, swim in the crystal clear waters of the spectacular cenotes (sinkholes), and follow the sacred paths of the Mayas.

Day 15: Merida - Tulum, Mexico

Learn about the ancient ways of life in this well-preserved Mayan citadel with an English speaking guide. Ponder the disappearance of this archaeological site’s former inhabitants while you walk around these pre-Hispanic ruins.
