Pick up time: Hotel AC SESTO, Milan at 8:30am
Morning – Milan to Lake Garda
Don’t get us wrong, we adore Milan. But we’re taking you away from it for now for a very good reason: Lake Garda. Here, the rugged mountains, shimmering ice blue waters, and enchanting villages come together in harmony, creating one of the most-photographed landscapes in the country. And once you arrive, you’ll understand why…
Mid Morning – Free time and lunch in Peschiera del Garda
We stop at the charming town of Peschiera del Garda, with its cobblestone streets, scenic canals, and historical fortifications. Nestled at the southern tip of Lake Garda, this picturesque town invites you to explore its ancient walls, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, or an exciting boat ride. You’ll also have time to try some local specialties all while soaking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lake.
Next, you travel to the place steeped in romance and tragedy where you can trace the footsteps of star-crossed lovers; Verona.
Afternoon – Journey and free time in Verona
Verona; richly coloured buildings and decadent marbles, luscious flora on quiet streets, neatly hidden cafes and restaurants. The architecture of this city can only be described as romantic. You have free time here to reminisce about past lovers at the famous Juliet’s Balcony, where the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet comes alive. More fascinated by the Ancient Rome? Admire the grandeur of the Arena di Verona, one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres still in use today. Or just simply wander leisurely through the ancient piazzas, each offering its own unique charm and still echoing with history.
Early Evening – Free evening in Venice
You then venture to the floating city of Venice, one of the most striking destinations in Italy and your home for the next two nights.
There’s something unique about Venice at night. The island clears, the hubbub settles, and Venice’s ghost stories whisper along the canal’s streets.
Accommodation: Your overnight accommodation will be in 3* Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes (or similar), Venice.
Day 2: A free day in Venice
Morning – Guided Tour of Venice
With its wealth, trade, and power; Venice has always been bold. Trust us, you’ll need at least a full day in Venice. We wish we could give you more, and, as there will be so much for you to choose from, we recommend making a list before you go. You enjoy an included two-hour guided walking tour of the city and then it’s up to you what you explore next. From people-watching in Piazza San Marco to frequenting the famous galleries, you have the whole day and night in Venice.
Mid Morning – Free time in Venice
177 canals, 350 gondoliers, and the most idiosyncratic cityscapes in the world: Venice, ‘the Floating City’, is your home for the day. It’s been built on over 118 islands and hosts one of the most famous festivals in the world. Why not try a gondola ride yourself, gliding along the serene canals as you take in the stunning views of the Grand Canal and picturesque bridges?
Afternoon – Free time in Venice
The labyrinth of Venice is part of its charm. Never knowing where you might end up or how many bridges are between you and your destination, but what’s certain is that every turn, every nook and cranny, every cracked façade holds surprises and stories and memories you will remember for a long time. The magic of Venice lies in the surprises that wait around every corner. Maybe you’ll stumble into a restaurant for one of the best Italian meals you’ve had. Perhaps you’ll step back in the refurbished 17th century pharmacy that now sells luxury perfumes. Maybe you’ll stand quietly in the crypt of a humble Venetian church, hugged by the cool air as you ponder its history.
Early Evening – Free evening in Venice
As the day comes to an end, the day travellers depart the city, clearing out its streets and restaurants, leaving you to savour the eerie beauty of The Floating City.
Accommodation: Your overnight accommodation will be in 3* Hotel La Fenice et Des Artistes (or similar), Venice.

Hopefully you won’t be too worn out after breathing in all that fresh mountain air, as this is your second free evening in Cortina d’Ampezzo to explore the glamorous mountain resort.

When you arrive, the first place to visit is Piazza Duomo, the heart of the city. As soon as you are there, stop beneath the fountain of Neptune, and take a look around: on one side the mountains, with the small Sardagna waterfall, on the other towers and castellated palaces, which whisk you back to the times of the famous Council of Trent in the blink of an eye. This is the best way to introduce you, in one sweeping gaze, to the two souls of the city.
Accommodation: Your overnight accommodation will be in 3/4* hotel in Trento.
Day 6: Castello Buonconsiglio & Brescia

Day 7: Free day in Milan
Morning – A day of exploring Milan on your own
In Milan, life revolves around art, fashion, and delicious cuisine, so make sure to indulge in them on your free day. If you’re a big city lover, you will thrive on this paradise for art and history lovers. Even if big cities aren’t your favourite thing, you might be surprised by how an aimless stroll around some of Milan’s quieter streets might lead you to hidden gems, like the pink flamingos of Villa Invernizzi or the House of the Omenoni.
Please note: This is a free day for you to explore the city at your own pace and there will not be a guide on hand. The second part of the tour begins tomorrow (day 8) – please see tomorrow for more details.
Mid Morning – A day of exploring Milan on your own
As the day continues, the city expands out around you. When it comes to art, seeing da Vinci’s Last Supper is a must. This enigmatic piece of work attracts many visitors, so book your tickets in advance. Or perhaps you’re less about art and more about architecture, which means you can’t miss the Duomo, Milan’s most magnificent cathedral. This tremendous tribute to Gothic architecture is one of the biggest churches in Italy and will mesmerize you with its intricate design.
Afternoon – A day of exploring Milan on your own
There’s no need to convince you to refuel – you’re in Italy, after all. What we love about Italy is that everywhere you go there will be unique dishes waiting to be served. In Milan, how about some Risotto alla Milanese, the simplicity of its ingredients giving it a refined flavour. And you might be tempted to share a platter of Mondeghili (meatballs), another Milanese dish that will tickle the palate. Don’t fret because you still have hours left in the day. And in a city obsessed with fashion, even window shopping feels like a unique experience. Visit the flamboyant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II or Quadrilatero della Moda, the home of the most luxurious brands.
Early Evening – Free evening in Milan
As evening sets in, you might follow in the footsteps of Milanese and partake in aperitivo, the pre-dinner ritual traditionally held anywhere between 5pm and 8pm. Drinks, snacks, and conversation? Given all you’ve seen today, that should be easy. Savour that moment of relaxation after the day and get ready for the next stage of your journey.
