This year I got to live out some bucket list travel moments with 7 of our agents in Lapland!
Not only did we get to explore Helsinki staying at the beautiful Hotel Maria, during that time but we also got to visit Tallinn for the day (did you know that Tallinn was the first place in Europe to have a public Christmas tree?!)
From here was the “Santa Claus Express” night train from Helsinki to Rovianemi followed by a hosted breakfast at the Arctic Snowhotel & Glass Igloos and a sneak peek at the Ice Restaurant and Ice Bars being built- amazing!
Once we wrapped up here we got to have a look around Santa Claus Holiday Village followed by lunch at the Santamus restaurant – highly recommended, and checked in to our accommodation in the Santa Claus Holiday Village – but a stay here wouldn’t be complete without a Husky Safari which we were lucky enough to do at Nova Galaxy hotel followed by a “snack” by the fire (if you call the best soup I’ve ever had followed by a Reindeer steak sandwich a snack!)
And yes – we did meet the big guy and have him send letters home to all our children, nieces and nephews – sorry little ones – guess we’ll all just have to come back together!
After a good night’s sleep we then carried on to Saariselka and saw the amazing Wilderness Centre followed by a beautiful dinner at Restaurant Kaunis at Star Arctic hotel – I didn’t think this trip could get any better until we all got to experience the Northern Lights!!
We had the amazing opportunity to do SnowMobiling through what I can only describe as the perfect Winter Wonderland – a must do experience for everyone!
Last and certainly not least is a bus over to Inari to stay at the beautiful Wilderness Hotel Inari for a night, where we got to relax over dinner and discuss trip highlights which seemed to have the same answer of “I can’t pick just one”
We said our goodbyes after all of us living out childhood and adult travel dreams – highly recommended to everyone!
